Hello! I thought I’d swing by here for a little bit today and talk about books. Yes, books!

I read Fourth Wing a few years ago when it was everywhere and everyone was constantly gushing over it on BookTok. And honestly, I really liked it. I loved the story, and I especially loved the dragons. In fact, I think the dragons’ personalities and banter were even more interesting than the human characters sometimes. But of course, like every other bookworm out there, I completely fell in love with Xaden Riorson, and I truly grieved over Liam. I mean, who wouldn’t be heartbroken over Liam? Just thinking about it right now makes me want to cry all over again.

Then, when Iron Flame came out, I read that one too. I still remember being completely hooked on it during an out-of-town trip with my friends. They couldn’t even complain because they already know how I am when I get lost in a story. Books before anything else, even when it is with friends I only get to hang out with once a year. Hahaha.

Fast forward to when Onyx Storm came out, and naturally, I bought it immediately. The problem was that I was in a serious reading slump at the time, so the book has just been sitting pretty on my bookshelf ever since. Recently, though, I heard people talking about Threshing Day as a companion book to Fourth Wing. I even stumbled across someone online saying, “If you just started the Empyrean Series, read Threshing Day first before Fourth Wing.”

And that is where my dilemma comes in. I want to reread the series just to refresh my memory before finally picking up Onyx Storm, but the question is, do I start with Threshing Day or Fourth Wing?

I am so conflicted. I really don’t know what to do! I have no idea if the order will make a big difference, but I want to experience the story in whatever way makes the most sense.

What do you think I should do?

Love, Rosie
